A fast-growing segment of the population is moving from being merely cautiously aware of environmental changes to being actively concerned. Each extreme weather event contributes to heightened public awareness and interest in solutions. We can all help nudge cautious people to a confident, informed position on the many strong technologies, strategies, policies, and programs available; and invite them to join initiatives that support these efforts. (Here’s a favorite local group in my home town; this well-known bipartisan organization encourages self-described environmentalists who do not usually vote to do so.)
